Blog Assignment #7

Randy Pausch is an incredible person. Even when faced with life's greatest mystery and heartbreak, he still remained completely happy and encouraging. He encouraged us to live life and reach for our dreams. Randy would want us to appreciate life and have fun with it. Don't just sit at home, go have fun! He wants everyone to be able to reach their dreams and live their dream. What a great message.
Obstacles will always try to stop you, but Randy would tell you to overcome these obstacles is an achievement in itself. He had many childhood dreams, and encouraged you to go after them. This is very important for future teachers. Teachers are a big part of children's lives, and they need to encourage children to go after their dreams and that dreams are just another step toward being happy in life. This video would be a wonderful tool to use in the classroom.
Randy's lecture is for teachers and adult figures. We are going to be guiding our children and other children through life, and we need to get through to them somehow. We need to make them understand that life is not forever, and living life to the fullest is what we must teach them to do. We must help children find their potential and help guide them towards living their dreams.
We all have dreams as children, but one day it seems we all grow up and forget about them. We need to stop this terrible trend. Who says we can't enjoy life? We need to remember what we love and go after it! Randy will not be around to see his three children live their life, and this was extremely heartbreaking for me. If Randy could guide so many people through one speech, think about what we could do! Randy is not here anymore, but we are and we must use his message to inspire people for the better. Children are our future and they deserve to live their dreams and so do we!

  1. Hi, Skye!
Randy definitely was an amazing man! The way he led his life and taught is very inspiring. I loved all of the different methods he used throughout his lecture, and his quotes made me think. My favorite had to be when he quoted his mom. "This is my son, he is a doctor, but not the kind that helps people." Isn't it funny how our parents are our best and worst critics, haha. Great post!

  2. Randy Puasch's attitude is what I want every teach to have about education and life! He has been such a great influence on me, and I hope he will be to you also.
